The Land Art 2016

Tha Land Art As Commisioning Landscape Scene In The Margin Of 'The Floating Piers' Of Christo.

di Massimiliano Marano.

Huge amounts of polypropylene covered with fabric yellow polyamide that form a pontoon anchored at the bottom of the lake: this is 'The Floating Piers', the last great 'packaging' the artist Christo Vladimirov Yvachev, which from June 18 to July 3 2016 combines the east coast of lake Iseo with Montisola. In perfect harmony with the aesthetic requirements of the 'Land Art' American tradition, of which Christ is one of the main performers, the work seems to respond in an exemplary manner to the need, typical of a certain contemporary art, to redefine their relationship with nature, acting from within, in order to make possible new and original aesthetic experiences. Out of it the task of imitating nature through images, art began to deal with the environment through the Land Art, which, rejecting the traditional art reproductive figurative approach, sought to reinterpret life, working through creating opportunities aimed at fostering new and original aesthetic experiences of nature.

Placing itself in that perspective, as stated by the Bulgarian- American artist Christo, The Floating Piers has enabled the user to perform unusual aesthetic experience, ephemeral and transitory, as feasible only in the work of the installation period, which the " walk on water . "

Walking on the water is fundamental in order to aesthetically experiencing the installation of Christo.
